DAR Youth Leadership Medal

About the Medal

The DAR Youth Leadership Medal was established to foster among school‑aged children a greater appreciation of the qualities of citizenship Americans must possess if our country is to remain sovereign and independent. The award is presented to students who exemplify the highest standards of honor, service, courage, leadership, and patriotism.

The process:

  1. Nomination – A school official (teacher, principal, or counselor) submits a student’s name to the Chakchiuma Chapter NSDAR, along with a brief explanation of how the student demonstrates the required qualities.

  2. Review – The chapter reviews the nomination to ensure the student meets the eligibility requirements.

  3. Approval – Once approved at the chapter level, the medal and certificate are ordered.

  4. Presentation – The chapter presents the medal and certificate to the student, typically at a school assembly or special ceremony.
